blizzard rages

Early afternoon the drifting is supposed to overtake the effect of the falling snow. The bird feeder is already slightly below the level of the snow. So I dig a trench around it and place a piece of plywood to shelter these imperiled two-ounce birds. Notice the one on the feeder and the one in the trench. Four times or more today I've dug the walk between the house and the barn.

off the grid for a week

Back online after a backward week. And I mean a week. And I mean backward.

A storm took us out. Amazon orders I had to ship backed up. Who knows what online bills did not get paid.

The sage said, Teach me to care but not to care too much. I'll make that--give me online service but not get hooked on it.

blustery winds

A backache today and I'm looking around my space after a treatment at the chiropractor's office.

Here's evidence of the blustery winds which hit Monterey last week. The corner of the Miller's barn ripped open.

This image cropped way too much, but I shot it on my tripod.

At our house, a half dozen shingle pieces flew off in the storm.
