I have a sister and husband who live in Huntingdon, Pa. The Fourth we drove 2.25 hours to see them. A charming town, indeed. Being the seat of Huntingdon County we have the courthouse. And we saw a park where the canal used to be before the railroad put the main line through the town. You see the historic church where they worship, and a strange, needle-like stone (not the original now) which native peoples had erected. And if you like unusual bird feeders--they have one in the form of St. Francis of Assisi.

sister's kitchen painted
My sister and her husband asked me to paint the kitchen cupboards. As it happened, today I finished the job. Here's the before at 10 a.m. with sister Evie who was dog-sitting and who made us a wonderful lunch. Seven hours later, somewhat weary, we pose in front of the almost-finished cupboards. The pics don't really do justice. Brother Milton put in a full day.

cherry picking
Here's my brother Milton holding his granddaughter Helen. And here's grandma, Lois, after the cherry picking today.
The crop this year is small but deep red. Both trees were swarmed by my sisters Loretta, Anna Lois, and Evelyn and husband Gary, besides the three in the pic and Dorcas and me.
The trees came from the nursery 20 years ago and one is sorely diseased. But, what a family time!
